It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clifford Mendel of Walnut Creek, California, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford William Mendel, Sr. and Elisabeth Hand Evans Mendel; and his sister Elisabeth Gayle Mendel. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Burkhardt Mendel; his children, David Blair Mendel (Jennifer Hall) of Walnut Creek, CA, Gregory Alan Mendel (Lisa Heath) of Hobart, WA and Susan Marie Mendel (James Cooley) of Los Alamos, NM.; his sister Nancy Whitlatch of Grand Junction, CO; and his grandchildren, Gretchen Mendel, Caroline Mendel, Shay Heath, Rory Cooley, Taran Cooley and Aidan Cooley.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the Virginia Coastal Reserve (VCR) in Cliff's memory.
