He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Escalante and Lupe Escalante; and his siblings, Frances Plazola, Frank Escalante and Anthony Escalante.
He is survived by: his wife Gina; his children, Karen Amaro of Coalinga, Andrea Huerta of Visalia and Eric Escalante of Visalia; and his sister Josie Garcia of Rancho Cordova. He is also survived by 6 granddaughters and 4 great-grandchildren.
