On July 29, 2019 Brenda Lorett Cloird, loving mother and grandmother, sister and niece passed away at the age of 66 at Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo California
Brenda was born in Martinez California on March 9, 1953, the oldest child of Marie Randle. She was baptized on February 4, 1968 and was a member of North Richmond Missionary Baptist Church (Rev Newsome). She was a proud graduate of Richmond High School, class of 1971. Brenda married Rogers Lee Bell on December 14, 1971. That union brought two children, Rogers Lee Bell Jr and Adrienne Marie Bell
She married again on June 28, 1986 to Antwon Cloird, this union brought her last child Antoinette Tameka Cloird.
She completed her studies at Contra Costa College and after that she started what would be her career job at Fireman’s Fund insurance company on August 13, 1984. She retired from Fireman’s Fund on December 23, 2011. Even after she retired she still kept in touch with her co-workers.
She joined Tabernacle of David Missionary Baptist church in 1999 under R.L. McCray and sang soprano in the Voices of Tabernacle. She loved to sing! She would always sing around the house and to her grandbabies.
The name Brenda means “blade of a sword”, and she was sharp, strong and ready for battle. She was always a hard worker and an amazing mother. She always put her children first. She was always dressed and not a hair out of place. She also was known for having a clean house. She would religiously clean the house on Saturdays listening to Luther Vandross, whom she loved! Having a clean house and a happy family always brought her joy. Someone perfectly described her as a “Quiet Storm”.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother Marie Randle (Preston) and Carl Lipsey (Father), and Edward Uzzle (Step-father). She is survived and honored by her three children Rogers Lee Bell Jr, Mesa Arizona, Adrienne Marie Bell, Sacramento California and Antoinette Tameka Cloird, Vallejo California. Former husband and good friend, Antwon Cloird. Forever adored by her five Grandchildren; Destiny Saroya Black, Deyjah Neveah Bell, Kaylen Joi Bell, Rogers Lee Bell III and Blythe Adiah Evans. And her loving siblings Dovie Marie Foster, Pamela Joy Reis (Paul), Edward Claudius Uzzle. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives that will love and miss her.
Her family is so grateful for your love, support and prayers. We extend our most heartfelt thanks to all of those who were able to experience this dynamic woman.
