It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Duarte Machado (Vacaville, California), who passed away on February 25, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brother Manuel Jerome Machado; his brother-in-law Arthur Manuel Verissimo; and his parents, Joseph DeRosa Machado and Mariana Ferreira Machado. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Deann; his sister Aurelia Theresa Verissimo; his son Dennis Joseph Machado; his adoptive children, Katheryn Ann Machado Covington and Tony Machado (Jessica); his stepchildren, Shari Holzer (Brad Zevnik) and Jeff Holzer; and his grandchildren, Katrina Machado, Jessie Machado, Matthew Zevnik, Rachel Zevnik, James Covington, Jr., Ronald Covington, Carlos Soares, Jr. and Joseph Soares. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews.
