He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Fillhart and Elizabeth Fillhart; his wife Helen; and his son Eric. He is survived by: his children, Greg (Karyn) and Joan Silva (Randy); his grandchildren, Camille and Collin; and his brothers, Robert and Stephen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation which serves veterans.
