She was predeceased by: her mother Adele Iesalins; and her sister Daina (Gene). She is survived by: her sons, John Lapkass of Anchorage and Andy Lapkass of Breckenridge; her granddaughter Maja Lapkass of Anchorage; and her sister Guna of New Jersey.
Memorial donations in Maiga's name may be made to American Latvia Association Museum of the Occupation of Latvia in Riga, Latvia.
