He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Walter Blattner and Pearl Blattner; his stepmother Charmian Blattner; his brother Jerry Blattner; his daughter Jennifer Anteczak; and his half-sisters, Donna and Sandy.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Michael Williams, Shannon Williams, Valerie Williams, Gregg Burgess, Monica Burgess and Ernest Blattner Jr; his stepson Dean Durham-Dunsing; his sister Betty Hoppes; his half-siblings, Darlene and Albert; and also, Ginger and Judy.
