Arlene Steely Obituary
Arlene June Steely, age 84, passed away in Ukiah on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022. Born Sunday, August 28th, 1938 in Parker, SD to Lennie and Irene Currier as Arlene June Currier. As Arlene grew up, her family moved in 1941, first to Portland, OR, then to Fortuna, CA and finally to Ukiah, CA in 1956. In Ukiah, CA while working at the Cecille Grill, Arlene met & later married James (Jack) Everette Steely on August 28, 1958. Arlene and Jack had 2 sons (Kenneth & David) and 1 daughter (Chellie). Arlene was a homemaker until she started her own business, Miss Muffet's Pilot Cars in 1967. After 50 years she retired from her business in 2017. Arlene & Jack were married 21 years when the Lord called Jack home in July of 1979. Arlene continued with her active life and met Richard (Rick) Peterson in 1987, whom she spent the rest of her 35 years of life with. Preceded in death by her parents, Lennie & Irene Currier, brother Marlon Currier, brother Doyle Currier, husband James (Jack) E. Steely & daughter Chellie Steely-Flores. Survived by one brother Melvin Currier, sons Kenneth (Anna) Steely, and David (Suzanne) Steely, grandsons Aaron, Allen & Austin Steely (The A Team) & numerous nieces & nephews whom she was affectionately known as "Aunti Arlie.". Arlene will be laid to rest at Noon on Friday, October 28th, 2022, at the Russian River Cemetery Chapel in Ukiah, CA.
