He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Schmidt and Ernest Schmidt; and his brothers, Johann Schmidt and Reinhold Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Maryann Schmidt; his children, Roger Schmidt (Gayle), Rodney Schmidt (Sheila) and Cindy Beckler (Robert); and his sister Erika Gibbs. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two more great-grandchildren.
