She was predeceased by: her parents, Ted Baskette and Mary Baskette; and her brother Jimmie Baskette. She is survived by: her husband Ray Axton; her children, Ray Axton Jr and Sis Alegre; and her grandchildren, Chelsey Alegre, Mary Alegre, Tyler Axton, Mikeala Axton and Ryan Axton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital set up in Denise Axton's name.
