She was predeceased by: her husband Shuichi Obata; her parent Kotaro Sakakura (Kogiku); her siblings, Joe Sakakura, Arthur Sakakura (Kumi) and Sachi Kurihara (Pete); her brother-in-law Hajime Obata (Hinae); and her nephews, Steve Sakakura and Roger Kurihara.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Michiko Sakakura; and her nephews, Michael Kurihara (Arlene), Richard (Francine), Donald (Annette), David Sakakura, Howard Obata and Keith Obata. She is also survived by many grand-nieces, grand-nephews and other relatives.
