He is survived by: his wife Judy Uota Higashi; his sisters, Lisa Higashi, Ali Higashi and Stephanie Lee (Stephen); his mother-in-law Michiko Uota; and his brother-in-law Clifford Uota. He is also survived by many nieces, and other relatives.
