Robert James Piercy Obituary
Robert James Piercy, 87 years old, residing in Temecula, CA passed away on March, 21 2022 in his home surrounded by many who loved him.
Bob Piercy was born in Indianapolis IN to Ralph and Margaret Piercy on April 13, 1934. He went to Cathedral High School in Indianapolis and graduated in 1952. He went on to serve 4 years in the United States Navy. He attended Purdue University where he received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Education. He taught at Secina and Howe high schools before moving to Bloomington to attend Indiana University where he earned his doctorate in Higher Education in 1975. While working on his degree, he worked in Civil Defense Department for Indiana University. He went on to work at and eventually head the Navy Safety School which was run by the Health Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) department at Indiana University for 32 years. He retired and relocated to Temecula CA. He was active at St. Martha Catholic Church in Murrieta CA, where he participated in many ministries such as RCIA, lector, eucharistic ministry, small faith community leader and Bible Studies. He was always athletic and played handball and softball, and coached his kids little league teams.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Delita, his 7 children, Robert, Mary, Michael, Joe, Dan, Liz, Shannon and his 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Edward and Raymond and his sister Mary.
Funeral services will be held at St. Martha's Catholic Church in Murrieta CA on April 8 at 10:15 AM with Father Carlos Martinez officiating. He will be cremated and interred at Riverside National Veterans Cemetery in Riverside CA. Visitation will be at Evans Brown Mortuary in Sun City on April 7 from 1-3pm.

Throughout his life, his greatest values were faith, family and friends and he cherished them more than anything else. He was a mentor, counselor, father and also a father figure to countless number of people he met in his life. Well loved by everyone he met; he always saw the best possibilities in his life.
