He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Akerson and Lena Akerson; his son Larry Doughty; his niece Kim Desjardin; his wife Eunice Akerson; his children, Richard Doughty, Janette Smith, Cyndee Roberson and Jeffry Doughty; his siblings, Sheldon Akerson, Norma Lagasse and Ernest Akerson; his sister-in-law Patti Akerson; his nieces and nephews, Merry Bragg, Cheryl Lagasse, Lori Lagasse, Brenda Skidds, Roger Akerson, Jimmy Akerson and Jerry Paul; and his grandchildren, Tracy, Holly, Scott, Bryan, Matt, Jon, Rebecca, Kathy, Shellee, Don, Jeffry, Johnathan, Isaac, Kasie, Troy, Jared and Dallas. He was also cherished by twenty-one great-grandchildren.
