He was predeceased by: his parents, Leota Atkinson and Harold Atkinson; his son Timothy; and his brothers, William and Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Lawson; his sons, David (Erica), Michael (Lynn) and Joseph (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Christina, Daniel, Corey, Kelly, Joey, Rachel, Emily, Nicholas, Veronica and Jacob; and his great grandchildren, Siobhan, Reagan, Kiani and Wyatt.
