She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Gerald Hodgson and Jane Hodgson. She is survived by: her sisters, Alice Cauble (Larry) and Carol Hodgson Birkman (Clair); and her daughters, Laura Colvin (Corey) and Cari Hammons (Larry). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Claire often won Bridge tournaments with her long-term bridge partner, Maggie Keeler, both locally and throughout California, even online during the Covid-19 pandemic.
