She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Owen R. Powell and Jessamine Graves Powell; her spouse L. J. "Jack" Heenan; and her sons, John (Dorothy) of Live Oak and Tom (Debby) of Yuba City. She was also cherished by six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
