He was predeceased by: his wife Beatrice Van Meter; his parents, Lee J. Van Meter and Bertha G. Van Meter; his siblings, Elbert Lee, Doris May, Robert Frederick and Beryl Jean; and his niece Roberta Rain.
He is survived by: his brother John Raymond Van Meter; his children, Deborah Henehan, Martin Van Meter and Denise Levinson; his grandchildren, Adele, Benjamin, Martin Jr., Melissa, Andrew, Robert, Christopher, Justin and Alyssa; and his pet Alvin. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends.
