He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Francis and Rose Estelle Lorch Messick; and his siblings, Merriel Marie Westing, William, Robert and Norman Messick (Barba McCandless Messick).
He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Roehrick, Kathryn Tamaki and Mary Albante; and his caregiver Jinny Leung. He is also survived by four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
