He was predeceased by: his father Joe Terri Vallelunga; and his stepfather Arthur Montrose. He is survived by: his son Hap Theodore Vallelunga Jr.; his granddaughter Sydni Lynn Vallelunga; his siblings, Marshall Jon Vallelunga, Ty Mason Vallelunga, Claudia Cyd Adotta-Vallelunga and Rachel Leona Vallelunga; his nieces and nephews, Charles Benjamin Schimmel, Brian Vallelunga, Alexis Brook Evans and Diana Vallelunga; his great-nephew Tyler Evans; and his mother Catherine Montrose.
