He is survived by: his wife Merrilee Fay Reed; and his children, Melita Winnick, Stephen Oliver Jr. Mr and Reed. He is also survived by one daughter, one son, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Donations can be made to the Cancer Society in honor of his beautiful wife Merrillee or to the American Lung Association in support of research to cure chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and to the Historical-Cultural Monument Chatsworth Community Church.

“I had the pleasure of knowing Don "Grandpa Don" for about 4 months. We shared great conversations about growing up and his time in the military, all while road tripping to get him to his doctor appointment for his big "surgery day!" It was a delightful and heart warming day that gave me the privilege of getting to know such a talkative, charismatic and great human being. You will be sadly missed "Grandpa Don" My heart goes out to the family during these difficult times.”
