He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Sr. and Irene; his former wife Janet Bongberg; his wife Melissa; his mother-in-law Joyce Cash; his sisters, Sharon and Beth; his children, Gabe, Nick, Jill, Kourtney, Ashley, Matthew and Dylan; his grandchildren, Caden, Brady, Aidan, Wyatt, Addison, Wade, Weslynn, Addalyn, Mason, Landon and Nolan; his nephew Michael Fisk; his nieces, Sarah and Julie Remus; his father-in-law Jim Cash; his niece Erica Bongberg; and also, Robert and Lucille Bongberg. He was also cherished by two sons from her previous marriage.

His loving, attentive life ended in a peaceful nap, when complications from Parkinson's disease released his soul to join the great majority.
