With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Daniel Franklin Hammett (Shafter, California), born in Hatch, New Mexico, who passed away on April 22, 2018 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandmother Malisa Hilburn Grimes Hale; his former wife Barbara; his siblings, Elmer Chester Hammett and Willa Mae Betts McClure; and his stepson David Gerald Criswell.
He is survived by: his stepgrandfather James Lawson Hale; his spouse Barbara Neeley; his grandson Jacob McCurdy; his wife Pat Criswell-Hammett; his children, Janice McCurdy (Tom) of Lindsay, CA and Thomas of Lincoln, CA; his stepchildren, Mike Criswell (Gail) of Eugene, OR, Elaine Bishop of Bakersfield, CA, Linda Perigo (Bob) of Shafter and Scott Criswell (Tammy) of Shafter; his brother Arthur Betts; and his sister-in-law Theresa Hammett of Klamath Falls, OR. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Free Will Baptist Church in memory of Daniel Hammett, 155 Redwood Drive, Shafter, CA, 93263, Honor Flight of Kern County, or Hoffman Hospice of Bakersfield.
