We are sad to announce that on November 2, 2023, at the age of 87, Merlene Hicks (Seaside, California), born in Dallas, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Sinnie Darius Moore; her husband James; her grandson Jason Hicks; and her siblings, John Mills, James Mills, Virgie Mills, Hubertine Ross, Witt Mills, Charles Mills, Charlie Mac Moore and Charlie Mae Moore.
She is survived by: her daughters, Caren, LaFreida, Tammy, Crystal and Patricia; her grandchild Chukchansi Casino; her close friend Gladys; her aunt Beulah; and her sister Lucy Jane Ridge of Dallas. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Though she fought mounting health battles, survived Covid, and faced countless challenges, her spirit was never diminished.
