He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Kathryn Gerig; his wife Carol Collier; his pet Dexter Brown Jr.; and his siblings, Jack (Claire) of Spokane Washington, Mary Nisbet of Bolinas and Holly Nisbet Hillegass (Bill) of Jacksonville Beach. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
