It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Duke Haruyuki Hatakeda (Santa Rosa, California), born in Rio Vista, California, who passed away on December 21, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Kisaku Hatakeda and Rin Nagahisa. He is survived by: his siblings, Sayomi, Aki, Ariji, Alice, Shizu and Flora; his wife Pauline; his children, Alicia (Georg) and Darrin (Laurie); his grandchildren, Tess (Corbin), Garrett, Kira, Kristen (Cole) and Luke; his great grandchildren, Damian, Emmett, Diana, Erik and Owen; and also, Robert and Flora.

He also tested positive for Covid so additional precautions were taken.
