She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Therald John and Catherine Whitesell (Maher); her siblings, John Whitesell and Kathryn Crawford; her husband Maurice; her children, John Magsamen, Anna Sierra and Theresa Plyler; and her grandchildren, Madeleine, Evan, Meredith Sierra, Russell and Samantha Plyler.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carmelita's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
