He was predeceased by: his wife Francisca Montiel (Vargas); and his parents, Maximino and Ricarda. He is survived by: his children, Maria Luisa Blackshear (Randy), Abel Montiel (Diana), Dolores Salcedo (Eduardo) and Magdaleno Montiel (Olga); his great grandchildren, Eric, Brian, Sean Blackshear, Michael Montiel, Michelle Duncan, Jesse, David, Paul Salcedo, Jason, Andrew Montiel, Reece, Cole, Parker, Rush, Brock Blackshear and Erinn Duncan; and his siblings, Francisco, Ruben Montiel and Luisa. He is also survived by his children, he also leaves behind nine grandsons, one granddaughter.
