It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Hares of Santa Maria, California, who passed away on February 4, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Pat. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathy Hares, Linda Sparks (David), Suzy Benson and Lisa Steele (Ronnie); his grandchildren, Jennifer Quaresma (Mikey), Cameron Goodale, Robert Sparks, Tyler Steele (Nichole), Michael Benson (Ashley), Heather Steele and Tessa Nelson (Brian); and his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Isabelle, Ayden Quaresma, Elizabeth, Addyson Goodale, Parker and Sawyer Benson.

Due to COVID-19 and current social distancing practices, a service will not be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation in his memory to VTC, Santa Barbara Food Bank, or Orcutt Presbyterian Church, it would be greatly appreciated.

“I am so sorry for your loss. Jesus spoke of death as an enemy. It truly is that. However he held hope of a better life at Revelation 21:3,4 where he speaks of a time when there will no longer be death or sorrow. What a wonderful time that will be. But, what hope will there be for those who have lost their lives already. A wonderful hope for them is found at John 5:28,29. I have found great hope in these promises.
