He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Souza and Phyllis Souza (Nunes); his children, Deborah Miles and Darryl Souza; his great great grandchild Krista Trigueiro-Cardoza; and his sisters, Julia Higgins, Viola Mead and Dorothy Reitz.
He is survived by: his wife Jill Augusta Smith; and his daughters, Sherry Purser, Rochelle Cardoza (Edward), Letitia Flores, Sara Souza of Santa Maria, Carena Mulady (Jim) of Antelope Valley and Kendra Simmons of Moyock. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.
