It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammy T. Labastida (Santa Maria, California), who passed away on March 19, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eustaquio Ted Labastida and Ramona Dagar Labastida. He is survived by: his wife Carol (Real) of Guadalupe; his sons, Jason Labastida (Maya) and Ryan Labastida (Maureen) of Santa Maria; and his siblings, Bob Labastida of Santa Maria, Ron Labastida (Denice) of Santa Maria, Clifford Labastida of Santa Maria, Teresita Inday Ponticello (Frank) of Las Vegas and James Labastida (Diane) of Nipomo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
During the pandemic, Sammy continued to teach music remotely and taught students throughout California.
