He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Evert Rea and Agnes Conway Rea; his son Thomas Rea (Tom); his sister Dorothy; and his brother-in-law Bill Frum.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Ybarra Rea; his daughters, Jordonna Rea and Barbara; his grandchildren, Brian, Ryan, Leah, Lisa, Cameron and Victoria; and his nieces and nephews, Michele Dour, Melissa Ybarra, David and Steven Ybarra.
