He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughter Julie Schaefer (Joachim); his grandson Nikolas of Ohio; his daughter Michelle Valencia (Indalecio) of Santa Maria; his siblings, Judith Dal Porto (Dick) of Santa Maria, John Rivas (Teresa) of Santa Maria and Robert Rivas of Santa Maria; and his friends, Larry and Stephen Vara. He was also cherished by his nieces, nephews.
