He was predeceased by: his parents, Joaquin Luis Tovar and Margarita Avalos of Tovar. He is survived by: his wife Maria Paz; his siblings, Neftali Tovar, Lucia Palomino, Teresa Sanchez and Victor Tovar; his children, Jose Luis Tovar, Jr. (Sandra Tovar), Carolyn Silva (Albert Silva) and Steve Tovar; his grandchildren, Cesar Tovar, Isaac Tovar, Miguel Tovar, Sedyna Tovar and Jayden Silva; and his great grandchildren, Katalyna Sendejas and Izrael Tovar. He is also survived by his family, and most importantly his wife.
