It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Michael Friedrich Sr. (Santa Maria, California), born in Mitchell, South Dakota, who passed away on April 25, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Fridelin Friedrich and Theresa Mary Thury Weiss; his siblings, Johanna, Father Aloysius, Leo, Frances, Alfred, Celestine and Carl (Mary); and his granddaughter Aitana.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Marie Morgan Fontaine; his grandchildren, Michelle Ohler Hines, Jamie Ohler and Karen; his son James Jr. (Marina); his grandchildren, Victoria, Aaron and Ian; his great grandchild Karen; and also, Hayden and Janelle. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to Catholic Charities.
