Fostine Jones-Mason Obituary

Fostine Mason, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024, at her home in Santa Clara, CA. She was born on August 11, 1936, in Greenville, Mississippi, to the late Oliver Jones Sr. and Elizabeth Jones.

Fostine was a devoted and loving wife to Solomon Mason for over 40 wonderful years until his passing. She was a cherished mother to Karen Grayson, Janet Smith, Myron Mason, and Pamela Mason. She was also a proud grandmother to Ashley Smith, Aaron Grayson, and Kyle Grayson. Fostine is survived by her sister, Norma Wingate, nephew Zedred Jones, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Oliver Jones Jr., Wilmer Jones, and Teddy Jones, as well as sisters, Herticine Jones and Julia Mack.

Fostine dedicated over 20 years of her life to nursing, making a difference in the lives of many patients throughout her career. Her compassion and dedication were evident to all who knew her.

In her leisure time, Fostine found joy in listening to classical music and lending her beautiful voice to the choir at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, where she was an active and devoted member.

Fostine will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A private memorial service to celebrate Fostine's life will be held on April 23, 2024, at 11 am at Rolling Hills Park in Richmond, CA.
