He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cecil Grant Kearl and Jennie Wright; his grandparents, Alfred and Lula Kearl; his daughter Jennie; his wife Barbara; his brother Grant; his son Russell Kearl; and his sister Marilyn (Phil). He was also cherished by 15 grandchildren and 24 great-granchildren.
Jim was awarded a college scholarship through the Ford Foundation for gifted students which paid for his tuition and books for four years.
