She was predeceased by: her parents, Ebba Elizabeth and Harold Leander Wackelin; and her daughters-in-law, Julie (Ralph) and Eleanor (David). She is survived by: her children, Judith Kinder (Gary), David Larson and Ralph Larson (Carol).
During the fall of 1918, Iola was sent to her grandparents in rural Indiana to protect her from the Spanish Flu pandemic.
