He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Stephen Smith and Olive Smith (Bowyer); his son Thomas Vernon; and his wife Verna Ruth Grose. He is survived by: his siblings, Myrtle, Dorothy, Leslie and Donald; his children, Barbara Reed (Robert) and Donald (Renee); and his grandchildren, Regina Ruth Peters, Lucas A. Smith and Gordon T. Smith. He is also survived by eight great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter, plus numerous other family members.
