He was predeceased by: his wife Cynthia Clark Mitchel; and his sister Louise Mitchel Marlow of Lexington, Kentucky.. He is survived by: his brother George Clayton Mitchel of Los Angeles; his stepchildren, Glen Henry Mitchel (Mari), Clark Fleming Mitchel (Carol), Caroline Mitchel Chesebro (Mark) and Cynthia Mitchel Ludlow (Jeff); his great grandchild Martha; and also, Gregory (Jane), Claire and Clark (Katie). He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren.
