He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, David Stapleton (Debby) and Nancy Stapleton; his grandchildren, Cynthia Stapleton, Matthew Stapleton and Jared Stapleton; his sister Carol Stapleton; his nephew Tony Murphy; his nieces, Katy Vanoni (Vito) and Monica Alatorre (Rick); and his brother-in-law Larry Murphy.

In his later years, he bravely lived with Parkinson's Disease.
