He is survived by: his children, Alfredo, Jr., Marisa and Juan; his brother Jorge Zarate; and his grandchildren, Nicole, Alenna, Peyton, Aiden, Johannes and Bella.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Dr. Alfredo Zarate to the Sisters of the Company of Mary's educational mission.
