Alfredo Perez Obituary
Mr. Alfredo Perez was a long-time resident of Sanger, CA born on October 28, 1926 and passed away on September 15, 2022 at the age of 95.
Like many other immigrants seeking the American dream, Don Alfredo Perez arrived at the tender age of 14, after his mother passed. The Bracero Program created a path for him and his future. He worked extremely hard for many years before bringing his family so they would have more opportunities than he had. Mr. Perez experienced many challenges and injustices, he along with his family became involved with the UFW (United Farm Workers). They participated with Cesar Chaves in boycotts and marches for many years. "Si Se Puede" – "Yes You Can". He taught his children to work hard, respect people and manage money wisely.
In the past few years, "Don" Alfredo was admitted into a senior care facility where he became an inspiration on social media (Facebook, Instagram) in his mid-90's. He had various health issues but that did not stop him from spreading joy and laughter. Alfredo aka "El Rey" made every day a blessing by spreading cheer. He loved making people smile by wearing festive holiday attire and singing his little heart out as he pushed himself in his wheelchair. He was the VIP with the Activity department and often the life of the party. His spirit and infectious smile will be missed tremendously. Alfredo loved singing, gardening, painting, coloring, art projects, dancing and attending church service.
He is survived by his wife Sofia , sons Daniel, Sylvester, Lucio, daughter Adelaida, and many loving extended family members.
