“My deepest and sincerest condolences on the loss of our dear Joanie. I didn't hear of her passing until my recent visit to San Pedro when longshoremen were talking about how sad it was that she passed.. She was an excellent friend to me, & a crochet partner; she taught me how to have fun even when things were crappy all around us. Her engaging spirit, love of family and friends, her great cooking, shining eyes & smile, and "Joanie Pool", and buttery nipples (a drink!) will stay with me always.”
