She was predeceased by: her husband Captain Nguyen Bao Tung. She is survived by: her daughters, Thu Nguyen, Le Nguyen (Bay), Nga Malekzadeh (Dana), Lien Nguyen (James), Huong Nguyen (Nick) and Phuong Nguyen (Loc); and her grandchildren, Alexander Malekzadeh (Annie), Ly Nguyen (Louis), Julius Fang (Will), Thien Le, Tam Le, Quynh Lam Tran and Khoi Tran. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
During her time in the United States, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking and community work– especially charity work and teaching Vietnamese youth.
