He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Nielsen and Richard Nielsen; and his brother Charlie. He is survived by: his wife Marie; his children, Erik (Nicole) and Teresa (Blane); and his grandchildren, Madeline, Joseph, Hailey and Kamryn.
A vigil service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connells. A Mass was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Matthew Catholic Church (1 Notre Dame Ave, San Mateo, CA 94402).
