Irma S (Aguirre) Mullally Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Irma S. Mullally, who left this earthly plane on June 14, 2019 at the age of 82. Irma Mullally was a worldly and wise woman. She had an enormous heart and open mind. Like her mom (abuelita), Irma would often quote this saying, "caras vemos corazones no sabemos" or "we see people's faces but we don't know what is in their hearts." She had deep respect for all humanity.
Irma was born in Granada, Nicaragua, a colonial gem situated on the banks of Lake Nicaragua (Lago Cocibolca) and grew up in a prominent old villa with her brothers and many cousins, her parents, grandmother and her twin sister, and a revered uncle "Tete" (José Sáenz Vargas) and aunt, Marina Argüello. When she was fourteen, Irma emigrated to San Francisco (along with her immediate family) where she attended Presentation High School and later met Edward Mullally - the love of her life - at a reception in the Oakland hills. They were married in 1956 and remained so till they passed away - Ed only six months before Irma.
Irma was deeply loved and cherished by many people: Edward, her adoring husband; her children, Sylvia, Robert, and Michael; as well as her granddaughters, Trisha and Alisha, her daughter-in-laws, her brothers and their wives, Roger and Lorraine, Cesar and Noemi; her beloved nephews and nieces, her cherished cousins in Mexico, María Elena Sáenz and family, and her dear cousins in Nicaragua, Jaime and Fatima, Ligia, Lucía and Adolfo, Marina, Eduardo and Lola, Alfred and René, et al. Among her special and beloved friends figure: Lois Anton (R.I.P.), June Cheit, Melidita, Toni Lowry (R.I.P.), Carol and Walter (R.I.P.), Melidita, Cassandra and her family,
