Jackie Ann (Puppe) Reilly Obituary
Jackie Ann Reilly, 72, of San Jacinto, California passed away peacefully in her home on October 30th with family by her side. She had been under the care of hospice after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jackie was born July 13, 1950, in Grafton, North Dakota to Otto and Clara Puppe. She was raised in Crystal, ND and graduated from Crystal High School.
Jackie’s first marriage was to Dale Reilly in 1968. They lived in Grand Forks, ND where she worked at Woolworth’s Variety Store. They had one daughter, Rachel. They later divorced and she moved to East Moline, Illinois for 9 years where her sister, Shirley and her family lived. In 1985, she moved to Moreno Valley, CA to live close to her sister, Janice. She worked at Rene's Bar and Grill and sold antiques at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Jackie married John Outwater in 2009. They were active members of the American Legion Post 848 in San Jacinto. She used to volunteer cooking and serving meals. She was also a member of the VFW and Moose Lodge. She has lived in San Jacinto, CA for the past 27 years.
Before Jackie’s health declined, she enjoyed traveling, visiting family and friends, camping, going to the beach, and spending time in North Dakota with her daughter and grandsons. She loved going to yard sales, thrift stores, and flea markets. Collecting antiques was her favorite hobby, which she had a lot of. As her health declined in the last few years, she enjoyed being in the comfort of her home watching westerns, cooking, tending to her plants, feeding the hummingbirds, talking to family and friends on the phone, and looking thru Facebook. She said Facebook was her entertainment.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Kenneth) Jacobs of West Fargo, ND; grandsons Dylan Geringer and Dale Munson of West Fargo, ND; sisters Shirley Gillies of East Moline, Ill and Janice Stroud of San Jacinto, CA.; sisters-in-law Alice Puppe of Grand forks, ND and Delores Puppe of Jamestown, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Outwater; parents Otto and Clara Puppe; brothers Lyle, Clifford, and Gordon Puppe; brothers-in-law Chuck Gillies and Don Zachery, and sister-in-law Marion Puppe.
A private burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Crystal, ND. Memorials may be made to Arbor Hospice, 25220 Hancock Ave Murrieta, CA 92562.
