Xiao Long Hua Obituary

Peter (Xiao Long) Hua of San Francisco, California, born on July 14, 1984 in Zhongshan, Guangdong China, passed away on August 21, 2023, at the age of 39. Peter is survived by his sister, father, and mother. Peter was hardworking, loyal, absolutely handsome with a beautiful grin on his face whenever he was up to something, smart, and was always wearing his heart on his sleeve. Peter grew up during tumultuous times in San Francisco as many immigrants faced common difficulties such as language barriers, cultural identity crises, acculturation difficulties, and lack of support and resources. Thankfully, Peter with his patience, tolerance, and intelligence, utilized all the resources he had access to along with his chosen family (friends who are like his brothers and sisters) to help him build his future. During his journey, Peter accomplished so much for himself and his family, yet it was never acknowledged properly due to the nature of Chinese culture where compliments and acknowledgements were seen as unnecessary. As we look towards the future, I hope that Peter's friends and family can all love each other with acknowledgements, compliments, and recognition for all the hard work (small or big) they have done in their lives. May we continue passing on the love that Peter gave to us to ourselves and our loved ones.
