He is survived by: his wife Harumi; his son Christopher; his siblings, Hiroshi Maruyama and Toshiko Kora; and his pet Lucca.
His dedication to the field culminated in a career focused on developing and optimizing high performance photocathodes for polarized electron sources, a contribution to high-energy physics experiments at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) and labs around the world.
